Economy

Delaware had a thriving economy.  Famers in the middle colonies produced surpluses of wheat, barely, and rye.  Delaware sold Cash Crops and was known as one of the bread basket colonies.  The sent tons of beef, pork, and butter to New York, Philadephia,  New England, to the Soulth,West Indies, England, and some parts of Europe.   Settlers on the Delaware River valley profited from the region's rich deposiths of iron ore.  Heating the ore in furnaces they purified it and then hammered it into nails, tools, and parts of guns
