Delaware

Delaware Colony was founded in 1701.  The colony was founded because they wanted to break away from the Pennsylvania colony. The colony was allowed to elect their own government by William
Penn when they were still part of Pennsylvania. After Penn allowed them to do this, they broke away from Pennsylvania. Penn continued to be the governor of the colony even after they broke away from Pennsylvania.
